 BOSQUEZ TO BLACK BELT...

Last night Chris promoted Josh Bosquez to Black belt making this Chris' second black belt in 14 years of training and 10 years of teaching.  A big congrats to Josh and this is a huge accomplishment in Jiu-Jitsu, life and in instruction as well.  Josh also opened the newest branch of the ever growing Next Generation Fighting Academy right here in Frisco Texas.  More info will be posted at www.nextgenerationmma.com soon.

 FOX SPORTS NETtm.

SUN Sports & Entertainment Inc. on Tuesday announced that it has signed an agreement with Fox Sports Net to telecast its new mixed martial arts television series, “GI vs. Pro.”

SUN's "Art of War" division will produce a series of nine MMA events that will air as one-hour specials Saturday nights at midnight on FSN, beginning July 19, 2008 and concluding on September 13, 2008.

GI vs. Pro will pit current and former MMA-trained armed services members against professional mixed martial arts fighters from around the country. All fights will be scheduled for three, 5-minute rounds inside a circular cage.

FSN announcer Jay Glazer and analyst Frank Trigg will be the commentary team for the telecasts.

"Our agreement with FSN is an important milestone for SUN as we continue to implement our growth strategy and develop relationships with international and domestic partners,” said CEO CJ Comu. “By showcasing our world-class fighters through well produced, quality events on FSN, SUN's position as an emerging global MMA organization is only further enhanced."

Additionally, FOX Interactive and SUN will collaborate on generating interactive content for both companies' platforms, including FOXSports.com. The online offerings could include streaming of events, clips syndicated across the FOX Network and other enhanced content to build an online community around each FSN broadcast and SUN events.

kids I have trained in the past that just started racing in the Pro class this

year.  They are now 16 and 17 years old.

Next Generation Sports Performance

As always I am as busy as one can be.  I have been training some of the top motocross guys in the Nation in they're strength and conditioning programs.  Now the demand has gotten a little bigger out here so I will be starting a new website www.nextgenerationsportsperformance.com (we're looking for a shorter site name) where you will be able to get some great training tips for building strength, getting better cardio, losing or gaining weight, and so on.  Look for the site in the next couple weeks and as always, thank you for the support.

9.22.07 Fighting this Saturday in Cage Rage

What's up guys.  I will be fighting Jean Silva this Saturday night at Cage Rage in England.  It was short notice but things should be ok.  I fight 3 weeks later for the Cage Fury 155 title but will not be fighting in Mississippi now.  Apparently they were worried about me being injured in one of my other fights before hand.  I'm fairly confident this won't be the case but I guess you never know.  Anyway wish me luck.

CB

No time off for Brennan

Only 2 weeks after the fight in Jersey Chris will take on Brazilian Top Team fighter Adriano "Nasal" Pereira on October 27th in Tonaka Mississippi.  This should be another battle of the Black Belts.

Brennan returns to the cage again in Cage Fury

Chris will climb in to the cage again for the Cage Fury 155 title on October 12th (his birthday) in Atlantic City New Jersey.  He will face a tough opponent in Jim Miller who has also won most all his fights by submission.  Look for some fireworks in this bout.

There is one more fight in the works but we are not cleared to talk about it yet.  More on that one in the next day or so.

Sorry for the dealy

Hey guys sorry for the delay here on the news page.  I have been busier than ever training Blake and Tyler Wharton for Loretta's where they both won National Titles in the biggest event of the year in amateur Motocross.  Blake has won 31 National Titles since we began training  his strength and conditioning last year.  Both are Pro now at 16 and 17 years old so look for big things out of them in the near future.

Brennan wins the GFC!!!

Thanks for all the support guys it was a great night of fights for the Gracie Fighting Championships.  I pulled off the win 1:30 in to the very first round via Toe Hold (Foot Lock) Thanks to all my sponsors, friends, students, Jenn and the boys.

Tyler Brennan wins 3 Palms Loretta Qualifier

Last Saturday dispite all else that was going on Tyler logged in his first win in Moto 1 of the Loretta National qualifier, and then if that wasn't enough he came back and did it again in Moto 2 later that day.  Tyler is putting together quite a little resume for himself. He also got second in the 1st round of a Texas Night Series he is racing in the week before as well.  His next race will be the night I fight on the 19th where my son Adam and wife will have the lovely duties of being the pit crew/mechanic for him.  It'll be the first one I've missed and I'm not happy about it.

Chris Brennan returns to the Cage

Next Saturday May 19th Chris will again enter the cage in the Gracie Fighting Championships against local Hammer House fighter Adam Disabato (3X All American from Ohio State).  This will be an exciting fight for Chris and a test to see if his anti wrestling tactics he's been working on will pay off.  This is one of 5 fight that are shortly around the corner.  Here's the schedule

May 19th GFC (WIN 1:30 of round 1)

June 30th World Vale Tudo

July 7th World Vale Tudo

August 11th World Vale Tudo

September 22nd World Vale Tudo

RIP... Jeremy William Robert Williams (Bill Bob Bills)

Saturday May 5th 2007 the world lost a dear Friend, Father, Husband, Teacher and more in Jeremy Williams.  We love you Jeremy and our thoughts are with your family at this time.

The Brennan family and Next Generation

Tyler Brennan gets 3rd at Cooperland Raceway

Tyler raced again this weekend in Okalahoma at a Loretta Lynn's qualifier and placed 3rd over all on the day.  Great weekend for his second time out.  We're off to Lake Whitney again next weekend for the national so we'll see how it goes...

Tyler Brennan makes MX debut this weekend...

So my son had his first motocross race this weekend at the ripe age of 5 years old.  I have to say it scared the crap out of me and it didn't faze him at all.  Here's one shot off the starting gate (#921) and one shot of me and him after the race.  You can check the news section later this evening to see the rest.

Let the beatings commence

Hey everyone just thought I would stop in and give a little news.  The GFC has been moved to March (can't give the actual date yet) and my training will resume full time tomorrow.  I took a short vacation this weekend to Santa Barbara with Jenn and things are back on track tomorrow.  Still scheduled to fight Rafael Dias and I am also scheduled now to fight on May 27th in Cage Rage in the UK.  Also watch for a short notice Pride fight sneaking up as my contract is coming to an end here shortly.  Anyway just checking in and letting you guys know what's up.  Also thank you for the fan mail that some of you guys send me.  That's the kind of stuff that keeps me motivated.

CB

Congrats Jeremy Williams

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Jeremy for his submission win last night in the IFL Season Opener.  Jeremy won by triangle of all things in the very first round after a nice exchange on the feet.  Being my first Black Belt I am especially proud of him and what he has done in the last few years.  Great job Jeremy I look forward to a good season of fights...

CB

CRAP!

Well it seems that the Gracie Fighting Championships have been postponed until mid March.  I am pretty bummed since I am not only in RIDICULOUS shape, I am mentally in a better place than at any time in my whole career.  This stuff happens though so I will just continue to stay in shape but back off a bit for a couple weeks and then pick it back up again as I was ready to peak next Saturday night.  Sorry for those of you that were going to attend but it's still on just a bit later.  Date will be announced later this weekend.

CB

NG first Brown Belt in Texas

Hey guys I just wanted to give a small update.  Josh Bosquez just received his brown belt from me here in Dallas.  He's my first Brown belt in Texas so I was kind of pumped about it.  He did his previous training at Carlos Machado's.  Josh will be in my corner at the GFC coming up in less than 2 weeks...  Congrats Josh!

Next Generation Liverpool 2006 re-cap

Formerly known as 'Scouse Shoot' and 'Liverpool Brazilian jiu-jitsu club' EST 2001 Well people, It's a new year and I believe it will be a good one for Next Generation!

2006 review2006 was a great year for the training group as it saw many club members get well deserved belt promotions and many victories for our competitors on the mats in the ring and in the cage

Events

This year we had fighters in a lot of events, to name a few: World Cage Fighting Championship, Cage Gladiators, Valhalla Fighting Championship, The Battlegrounds, K-1, Pride and Glory, etc, etc. The club fighting record for 2006 was an outstanding:25 wins (22 of which came by submission or tko) 3 losses and 2 draws For all the guys who fought well done and I am sure 2007 will bring many more victories.

Seminars

Early on in the year we had a visit from UFC competitor Jeff Monson, who taught class a couple of times, his teaching method was great and I think he helped improve everyone who went to his classes. The annual visit of Next Generation's Pride fighter Chris Brennan this year was awesome; Chris stayed for a week and trained with some of the fighters of a day, taught class and taught a great 4 hour seminar covering some great jiu-jitsu attacks for nhb. The visit was also great for a lot of Next Gen guys as there were a lot of promotions for 2006 (check out the photos on the website), and I am sure there will be a few more in 2007 when Chris is sure to return.

Happy Holidays from the Brennan Family

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and hope that everyone stays safe.  I am dieting right through Christmas like I usually am.  Promoters are cruel to schedule fights in January for anyone under heavyweight :)  Anyway, I'm really looking forward to 2007 because it should be a great year.  Happy Holidays guys...

CB Forum issues

Sorry guys for the forum malfunction.  We were having lots of spam and stuff on there so we decided to change the address and in doing so messed things up a bit.  We should have a new one up shortly.  Thank you for your patience.  On a side note training is going great and I am getting in to fantastic shape.  Weight is good (155 here I come) and that's about it.

CB

BACK IN ACTION...THANK GOD!!!

Hey guys I just signed a 4 fight deal with the Gracie Fighting Championships and the first one will take place on January 20th in Miami Florida at the American Airlines Arena.  My opponent will be American Top Teams Rafael Dias 7-1.  This should be a great fight and I have already started training.  Another exciting thing about this deal is I will also be doing some commentating for some of the up coming events.  Thanks to my sponsors for making it possible for me to train for these fights

CB

Back in the USA

Well the weekend in Canada was great.  Had a nice turn out and the NG guys were all great to be around as they are in every country.  I'd like to thank Mark, Joe, and Jeff for having me and Norm for making the drive to Vancouver.  You missed the rolling by about 15-20 minutes Norm.  I was also fortunate enough to train with soon to be black belt Paul Ford and that was a lot of fun.  Anyway just thought I would share some of this stuff.  NG Canada has a very strong Boxing back ground and is just getting the Jiu-Jitsu going now.  Look for these guy real soon in the Jiu-Jitsu and MMA world.

CB

Off to Canada Aaay!

I'm off to teach a seminar at the Next Generation Vancouver BC, Canada this weekend.  Should be a great time as the school is full of skilled boxers and up and coming ground fighters.  I'll return on Monday and continue the progress of my training for a hopeful November 5th Pride fight.  Have a great weekend guys and if you haven't checked out the new training and nutrition section it's right inside the "Strangler" page under Regimen.

CB

Training Updates

Well after many emails and threads asking for the training and nutrition section back up on the site...It's back!  There have been some alterations done to the diet as I have a new strength and conditioning coach in Kevin Wheat.  The diet on there right now is the one I used to make weight for Kawajiri in the last Pride and that was without a day of training so I would imagine with training you might be able to up your calories a bit and feel even better.  Anyway my training started picking up last week and I will begin eating cleaner and following the bottom diet tomorrow morning.  I am about 175lbs but it is time to start getting in fight shape and I will explain why in a few days when things are a bit more concrete.  My son Tyler's Birthday Party was this weekend so I put away some cake and that sort of thing.  Anyway check back soon for the fight news.

CB

Next Generation/Chris Brennan Gear

CB

Chris visits the UK early November

Chris will be touring the UK again this year in early November.  He will be hitting up The Next Generation Dublin Ireland, and The Next Generation Liverpool England.  Check back here shortly for concrete dates on these great seminars.

Back from Pride...

Well I can't say things went as planned, but then again they kind of did.  I wanted to pull out of the fight, but Pride made it slightly difficult for me to do that.  As you know I was bitten by a Brown Recluse a few week out from this event and was hospitalized and on crutches for a couple weeks.  I ended up going to Japan anyway to keep them happy and do my job.  I was on many antibiotics and not training at all but sponsors pay me to fight and that is what I did.  We knew going in that it was going to be rough fighting one of the top guys in the world in this kind of shape.  Thank god for a few things.  #1 Kevin Wheat (new strength, conditioning, and nutrition coach) I was able to walk in to 161 without training a day, and Deluge Water came out with a new sports drink that replenishes your electrolytes like Pedialyte but taste 1000 times better.  So...we went out swinging not even looking for the takedown where I most likely could submit this guy.  I was very fatigue all week and didn't want to waste all my energy trying to get the takedown on someone with the wrestling this guy had.  Needless to say it was a short night and I fulfilled my end of the bargain.  I will be back in Pride again before March 8th so we will be prepared and leave the Japanese with something to scratch their heads about...

Brennan visits Next Generation Vancouver, Canada.

October 6th,7th, and 8th Chris will be putting on a seminar at The Next Generation Vancouver BC Canada for Mark Friedman and his crew.  Come check it out if you haven't been to one of these you don't know what your missing.
